LATEST RESULTS

Last night the Cougars played their final game of the season as they played with lots of effort and energy but fell short to Marion in the district contest 52 to 40.  The boys put together a great team performance, which was lead by Jalen Carter with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots.  Zach Wood in his final game as a Cougar added 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.  Steve Shrable in his last game chipped in 7 points and 3 steals.  Coach Shankel and the rest of the coaching staff would like to think the players on both levels for a great season and a memorable one, and a special thanks to the three seniors Zach, Steve, Aaron who will be missed next season, thanks boys.
CCA 33        Fremont Providence Christian 46
 
Crossroads played their regular season final game against the Storm from Fremont Providence Christian.  The Cougars had a tough shooting night, losing 46 to 33.  They were lead by Zach Wood with 12points and 6 rebounds.  Jalen Carter chipped in 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks.  To round out the scoring both Matt Wissink and Stephen Shrable each netted 4 points a piece.  The boys wait to see who they play next week in districts were they will face the winner of Marion or McBain North Christian next Wednesday at Mason County Eastern.
CCA 71        Walkerville 57
 
Last Thursday The Cougars took on the Wildcats from Walkerville and recorded their fourth victory of the season.  Leading the way for CCA was senior guard Stephen Shrable with 16 points, 5 assists, and 6 steals.  Jalen Carter also had another double double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 steals.  Zach Wood added 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals.  Gavin Erbes chipped in 11 points, while Matt Wissink and Patrick Morse both added 8 points each.  The Cougars travel to Fremont Providence Christian for their last regular season game.
Crossroads picks up their third win of the season in a high scoring game.  CCA defeats Pentwater 90 to 63.  The Cougars went to the foul line 51 times, making 31 of the shots.  It was a perfect end for the three seniors on the team Aaron Mabry, Stephen Shrable, and Zach Wood to finish their playing days at home.  The Cougars were lead by Jalen Carter with a new career high of 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Stephen Shrable also had a new career high in points with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Zach Wood finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals.  Gavin Erbes chipped in 12 points and had 3 steals too.  To round out the scoring both Aaron Mabry and Matt Brandly each had 7 points.
Bear Lake 67   CCA 28
 

Last Friday the Cougars traveled to Bear Lake to face the leagues top team.  The final score Bear Lake 67 and CCA 28.  The Cougars played tough and was lead by Jalen Carter with 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots.  Matt Brandly chipped in 7 points, and Zach Wood also added 5 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and had 4 steals. 

Baldwin 74    CCA 39
 
The Cougars toke a strong team from Baldwin last night and played very hard but fell short at the end with the final score being 74 to 39.  Crossroads trailed at halftime 30 to 18 but could not keep up with the fire power from Baldwin.  The Cougars were lead by Jalen Carter with 21 points a new career high, he also grabbed 7 bounds and head 3 blocked shots.  Stephen Shrable tied a season high with 10 points last night.  Zach Wood lead the team with 6 assists and 3 steals.  The cougars travel to Bear Lake on Friday night.
Traverse City Christian 49    CCA 58
 
The Cougars clawed out their second win of the season against Traverse City Christian last by defeating them 58 to 49.  Crossroads had a well balanced attack as everyone was involved a a great defensive team effort for the win.  Zach Wood lead the way with scoring with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 steals.  Also adding some scoring was Stephen Shrable and Gavin Erbes who both netted 10 points a piece.  While Jalen Carter had 8 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 steals.  To finish the scoring Aaron Mabry had 8 points and 6 rebounds.  Crossroads is next in action against Baldwin at home.
Brethren 42    CCA 39
  
The Cougar boys drop another close contest to the Bobcats from Brethren.  The final score was Brethren 42 and Crossroads 39.  The Cougars were lead by senior captain Zach Wood with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 steals.  Helping the cause was Gavin Erbes who added 7 points and 2 steals.  To round out the scoring both Matt Wissink and Aaron Mabry chipped in 5 points a piece.
Fremont Providence Christian 75    CCA 56
 
The Cougars played tough after a hard battle the night before but fell to the Storm 75 to 56.  The Cougars were lead by Jalen Carter with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots.  Gavin Erbes added 12 points and Aaron Mabry scored 10 and 4 steals.  Zach Wood also chipped in 9 points and 4 assists.  The Cougars are back in action tonight at home against the Bobcats from Brethren.
MCE 56    CCA 51
 
The Cougars played their best game defensively against a tough league team.  In the end Mason County Eastern edged the Cougars down the stretch by out shooting the Cougars at the foul line 27 to 12.  The final score was MCE 56 and Crossroads 51.  The Cougars had an balanced attack lead by Matt Wissink with 12 points and 6 rebounds, Jalen Carter added 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Zach Wood played a great all-round game having 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.  To complete the scoring Gavin Erbes had 8 points, while Aaron Mabry and Matt Brandly both added 5 each.
CCA 29    Manistee Catholic Central 68   
 
In last nights contest against the Sabers the Cougars fell 68 to 29.  The Cougars were lead by Jalen Carter with 8 points and Zach Wood added 7 points and 6 rebounds.  Crossroads next game is Friday at home against Mason County Eastern.
Onekama 69    CCA 50
 
In last nights physical contest the Cougars fell a little short losing to Onekama 69 to 50.  Crossroads was lead by Jalen Carter with a career high of 17 points and 5 rebounds.  Gavin Erbes hit 4 3-pointers and had 14 points on the night.  Zach Wood turned in another good all-round game last night with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals.  The Cougars will travel to Manistee Catholic Central on Tuesday.
CCA 39    Brethren 44
 
The Cougars went to Brethren last night and made a 24 point comeback but run out of time, as Brethren beat Crossroads 44 to 39.  The Cougars offense was no where to be found in the first half as the Bobcats lead 20 to 8 at half time.  After half was a different story, the Cougars rally back and scored 31 points in the second half lead by another scrappy performance from Mr. Hustle, Aaron Mabry pressure defense, Aaron had 5 points and 5 steals.  The leading score was Zach Wood with 13 points and 3 steals, while Jalen Carter chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds.  Matt Wissink also added 7 points on the night.
Walkerville 44    CCA 62
 
The Cougar boys recorded their first win of the season last night by beating Walkerville.  The Cougars scored a season high last night 62 and also holding an opponent to a season low of 44 points last night.  Zach Wood turned in around great game by leading the Cougars in scoring  with 15 points, he also added 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals.  Jalen Carter also added another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Gavin Erbes chipped 12 points and Matt Brandly rounded out the scoring by hitting two huge three's and having 8 points.  The Cougars travel to Brethren on Wednesday night and are back home again on Thursday against Onekama.
CCA 49    Pentwater 60
 
The Cougars played their best game to date but fell short against Pentwater 60 to 49.  The Cougars were paced by Zach Wood with 13 points, 10 bounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists.  Steve Shrable also added 9 points and 10 rebounds, while Gavin Erbes chipped in 8 points and 7 steals.  Jalen Carter had 7 points and 12 rebounds, and to round out the scoring both Matt Wissink and Aaron Mabry had 6 points a piece, with Wissink grabbing 10 bounds and Mabry having 8 steals.  The Cougars are next in action against Walkerville on Monday the 14th at CCA.
The Cougar Boy's hosted the 5th ranked team in the state last night.  Crossroads played hard with endless effort, but fell to undefeated Bear Lake, 93 to 48.  Crossroads was lead by senior Zach Wood with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Jalen Carter, chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Matt Wissink added 8 points to the cause.  The Cougars travel to Pentwater this Friday.
Baldwin 79    CCA 46
 
Crossroads played Baldwin tough in the first half, trailing 29 to 22, before Baldwin proved to be a little to much finishing the game 79 to 46.  The Cougars were lead by Jalen Cater with 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Matt Wissink added 9 points and 9 rebounds, while Aaron Mabry chipped in 8 points.
CCA 42, Onekama 67 
The Cougars played tough early by got into some quick foul trouble where the bench stepped it up, they were lead by Matt Brandly who hit 3 3-pointers to finish with 10, while Patrick Morse also chipped in 8 points.  The Cougars also finished strong by out scoring Onekama in the 4th quarter 16 to 2.
Manistee Catholic Central 64, CCA 38
Mason County Eastern 75, CCA 47
 
Against Mason County Eastern your leading scorer was Gavin Erbes with 14 points.  Jalen Carter added 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Zach Wood had 6 points, 6 assists, and 9 rebounds.
